The Kérész Eco- and Active Tourism Center in Tiszafüred, the capital of Lake Tisza, in the beautiful bend of the Holt-Tisza, directly on the shore of the lake, welcomes all nature-loving visitors.

When it was designed, we set ourselves a goal. Let the tourist offer of Lake Tisza be enriched with an exciting, truly meaningful, four-season attraction. Thanks to its diverse services, it offers attractive programs for families, groups of friends, sports enthusiasts, cyclists and water hikers, but corporate and professional groups can also find their calculations here.

Kérész Center is committed to providing a real experience. An almost one-hour program full of interactive elements awaits visitors – with unique services. The full-panoramic 3D VR (virtual reality) presentation illustrating the life of the mayfly, the futuristic digital sandbox, the bean bag cinema introducing Lake Tisza and its immediate surroundings, the various themed tour offers, the organized guided tours all provide entertainment rich in experiences – and of course they serve learning by playing.

In the building, the Kérész Büfé with a terrace overlooking the Holt-Tisza awaits guests. Next to it, the conference, exhibition and event space, which can accommodate 80 people, provides the optimal location. At the same time, there are also meeting rooms that function as community offices and are suitable for group sessions and workshops.

The numerous terraces of the building provide an extraordinary panorama, where you can enjoy the incomparable tranquility of the waters of Lake Tisza while relaxing and recharging – here, in one of the most protected bays of the lake.

The Kérész Center can serve as a base for hikers who want to explore the area on foot, by bike, by water, or even by bus, but it is also suitable for holding events and team-building meetings. The building is located directly on the water’s edge, with its own floating jetty and a marina – free of charge for those who use the services of the Kérész Center.

The center’s enthusiastic and ambitious team set itself the goal of popularizing the Tisza Lake area and putting together a comprehensive tourist experience offer for the entire region, including introducing the natural wonders of Hortobágy and the Hortobágy National Park.

We are committed to sustainability. The center combines the most modern energy solutions, thanks to which the building functions as a passive house, using the energy it produces itself. But in everyday life, even in the smallest things, the green approach prevails.

The Kérész Center’s slogan is also its mission: “Our life is Lake Tisza!”

In the Kérész Centre’s exhibition space, visitors can enjoy a one-hour interactive program suitable for spending their time actively. A real curiosity is Central Europe’s largest digital sandbox – for children and adults alike. The 3D VR (virtual reality) presentation about the life of mayfly offers a special experience, which visitors can enjoy in unique hanging armchairs inspired by mayfly, with a 360° view.

The wildlife can be observed in four-position birdwatching, using professional equipment. A mini-exhibition took place, the topic of which is the pollution sources threatening the Tisza and the management of existing problems. The existence of a healthy, clean river is not only a matter of nature conservation, since we humans also depend on it in many ways.

The science exhibition hall provides scientific pastime with digital microscopes and large displays. The nature photography workshop makes up for the gap, giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the technical details before and after the tours.

With our experienced guides, 25 people can view the QUEST-THINK-SPACE exhibition at the same time. Since there are three different rooms (bean bag cinema, QUEST-THINK-SPACE – that means mayfly square – exhibition hall, natural science lab), it is a convenient solution for two groups of 25 people to move at the same time without disturbing each other. Thus, in each month, we are starting professional guide with 50 people in the following tours:

in June / September / October:

round 1: 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
round 2: 10.45 a.m. – 12.15 p.m.
round 3: 12.45 p.m. – 2.15 p.m.
round 4: 2.30 p.m. – 4.00 p.m. hours

in July / August:

round 1: 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
round 2: 10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
round 3: 12.45 p.m. – 2.15 p.m.
round 4: 2.30 p.m. – 4.00 p.m.
round 5: 4.15 p.m. – 5.45 p.m. hours

in November / December:

round 1: 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m
round 2: 10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m

Upon the arrival of our visitors, they give information to their reception staff about the currently starting specialist guidance and the number of available places. If they arrive between two shifts, they are happy to help fill the waiting time with in-house and out-of-house program suggestions.

For craft and other educational programs, we welcome those interested in a space specially designed for this purpose, regardless of age.

A short film showing the natural values ​​of Lake Tisza gives you a taste of the thousand faces of the lake – you can enjoy all this while leaning back on a comfortable, soft bean bag. The exceptional natural values ​​of the landscape and the lake are brought to life in a beautiful short film. The beauty of nature – with the participation of Miklós H. Vecsey – is revealed to us in the documentary spanning four seasons.

The Tisza lake and its immediate surroundings show a new face in the screening room that can accommodate 20 people. Thanks to the film, we can get to know the versatility of the countryside, the many exciting attractions and countless special places waiting to be visited.

Our visit starts with watching the documentary film, which allows us to slow down a little and arrive at the magical world that Lake Tisza can offer us.

We welcome brave and curious explorers with a well-equipped laboratory. In the natural science demonstration room, which can also be used for school classes, digital microscopes and displays help you observe the wildlife of Lake Tisza in detail. With its state-of-the-art and spectacular equipment, it promises meaningful entertainment for the school age group as well as adults.

Lovers of nature photography can also find their calculates in the offer of the Kérész Center. Our professional staff with many years of experience will help you navigate the mysteries of outdoor photography, show you what the photo function of our smartphone can actually do, and provide you with lots of useful advice so that the following pictures are really awardwinning. It is possible to photograph nature at dawn or even just at dusk, in the framework of both land and water programs, whether it is a larger group or an individual, personalized solution.

The special feature of the multifunctional conference and exhibition space, which can accommodate 80 people, is that it offers an unparalleled panorama of the Holt-Tisza through its huge glass surfaces. The event space is directly connected to the covered reception area and the harbor. Other rooms in the building are also available for larger companies, corporate team building events or school programs – as needed.

The co-working offices with a pleasant atmosphere, suitable for 4-6 people, can serve as a venue for negotiations, meetings, and workshops. Broadband Wi-Fi and essential office services help you work efficiently and provide a stable background for business meetings. In the meantime, the negotiators can refresh themselves with coffee specialties and small delicacies in the Kérész Büfé – and of course they can enjoy the wonderful panorama of the bay at no extra charge, in all seasons of the year.

The Kérész Center was built directly on the banks of the Holt-Tisza, in a fabulous bay, in a stunning natural environment, which in itself makes it attractive for a memorable trip. Its own port offers many additional possibilities. The Kérész Center can be a real water base for kayak-canoe trips to explore the lake, but it also functions as an unmissable stop for water hikers in the area.

Depending on the capabilities of the Kérész Center, it can provide space for temporary exhibitions. Up-and-coming artists, enthusiastic photo amateurs, contemporary painters or even graphic designers can have the opportunity to present their creativity and work, which they can do under optimal conditions and within a safe framework. We are open to any thematic idea, be it a unique solution, a traveling exhibition, or a one-off or longer presentation.
